Maurizio Abeni belongs to the new generation of "cross-over" musicians, moving freely between many different musical worlds. Despite his academic training, received initially in Italy and then in Sweden, with its activities as a pianist, composer, musical arranger and conductor he has passed through all forms of musical participation in show business.
As a pianist and musical arranger, he has worked with artists such as Andrea Bocelli, Fiorella Manoia and Lina Sastre. Early in his career he has worked in television as a musical arranger for numerous television shows. In film production he initially worked as a pianist and programmer. Afterwards in his role as a music arranger and conductor, he directed and orchestrated hundreds of soundtracks created in collaboration with major authors such as A.Trovaioli, L.Bacalov, P.Donaggio, C.Mattone, B.Zambrini, M.De Sica.
Maurizio Abeni is the author of twenty soundtracks for film and television, including "Mask of Wax," "Vanilla and chocolate", "Voices". He has also written music for several television documentaries and commercials. In 2013 He was musical director in the theater with "Rugatino", 2013 ; "Sistine History" 2014 ; "Roman Holiday."in 2015.
In 2015, he composed the music for the musical, also on stage at the moment: "Lady Mortacha, life is beautiful" with Veronica Piveti and the soundtrack to the movie "Neither Romeo nor Juliet", directed by Veronica Piveti.
He has written music for several documentaries and commercials. He conducted and recorded music for films with numerous orchestras such as the Symphony Orchestra of the Bulgarian National Radio Symphony Orchestra Rome, London Symphony Orchestra, the Czech National Symphony Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra of the RAI, the Italian Philharmonic.
Mr. Abeni led courses on the project "Ritmo SINFONICA" for string orchestra, organized by the Umbria Region; he is also a professor of "composing" in the courses of the Singing Multimedia Theatre, organized by the Lazio region in Ofichina Pasolini.
For various events, organized by UniCredit Maurizio Abeni wrote and conducted symphony concerts: "Soundtrack of Emotions" (2007.
